Alectra Utilities offers many convenient options to pay your bill – simply choose the one that suits you best. Pre-authorized Payment, telephone or online banking and at most financial institutions. You can also mail us your cheque or money order payment.
The easiest way to manage and pay your bills is to sign up for My Account to view and pay your bills online, set up a regular payment plan, view your billing history and monitor your usage. If you register for our convenient ebilling service, you will always receive a notification about your bill by email.
Alectra Utilities bills are typically issued monthly - look for the due date on your bill. The exact timing of when you will receive your bill will depend on your location and the meter reading date. Payment due dates are a minimum of 16-19 days after the bill “issue date”.

A new account set-up fee is applied whenever a customer registers for a new billing account or changes address. This fee covers our administration costs to set up your new account.
A number of other support programs are also available to help individuals or families who are struggling to pay their electricity bills:
- Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP)
The OESP provides ongoing monthly credits directly on the bills of eligible low-income customers. To apply, please visit OntarioElectricitySupport.ca or call 1-855-831-8151 (toll-free in Ontario).
- Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)
The LEAP provides a one-time financial assistance grant to qualifying low-income customers who are struggling to pay their electricity bill. Our Customer Care department can provide additional information about the program, and where applicable, direct customers to the appropriate agency.
- Arrears Management Program (AMP)
The AMP allows eligible customers to pay their outstanding electric arrears in installments over a period of time. Program participants are required to immediately pay a portion of their arrears as a down payment, and a monthly payment plan is created to pay the remaining electric arrears. - Ontario’s Affordability Fund
Alectra is pleased to provide customers access to the Affordability Fund to increase energy savings in your home. Visit affordabilityfund.org to find out if you’re eligible and how to apply.

Alectra Utilities offers many energy-saving tips, tools and programs to help you manage the amount of energy you use and your electricity costs, as well as to minimize your impact on the environment:

If you have previously registered for My Account, all you need to do is set up your preference for ebilling (paperless) billing. You will then receive an email notification when your ebill is ready for viewing online which will include a usage summary and links to allow you to pay your bill. If you don’t yet have a My Account, learn more about the benefits of registering.
It’s easy. Simply complete the online application form, including your banking information, and submit to register for one of our convenient Pre-authorized Payment Plans. You can also register for our monthly Equal Payment Plan where you can specify a date for the withdrawal of funds that works with your budget. We can also mail, email or fax the form to you by contacting Customer Care.
Alectra Utilities does not require a letter of reference or security deposit from residential customers.
Please continue to select your legacy utility as your payee for the time being. You will be notified when we switch to Alectra Utilities for online bank payments.
For the majority of our customers, bills are for electricity services only and include associated charges for electricity, delivery, regulatory and debt retirement. In some service areas, water and wastewater/storm costs are also included.
The majority of our customers are able to manage and pay their bills online by signing up for My Account. The process is simple and easy to navigate – you’ll need to enter your account details and some information that can be found on your current bill.
