Alectra pedals for cancer research

A team of 35 Alectra employees cycled in the annual Enbridge® Ride to Conquer Cancer® on June 9 and 10, travelling more than 200 kilometres between Toronto and Niagara Falls. Together, the Alectra team contributed over $112,424 to the $18.3 million total that the 4,555 riders raised in support of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

This was the second consecutive year the team rode together and since 2017 Alectra has raised over $237,000 for cancer research.

“We have all been affected by cancer in some way and I am tremendously proud of our employees’ ongoing commitment and support of the Ride to Conquer Cancer and the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre,” says Brian Bentz, President and CEO of Alectra Inc. and one of the riders on the team. “Alectra’s continued support in causes like the Ride is an integral part of our values.”

Funds raised through the Ride support Personalized Cancer Medicine research, treatment advances, education and new standards of care at Princess Margaret. Donations are allocated into four main areas: detect, diagnose, target and support.
